Vegas Partner Lounge donates to AIDS cause

The online casino company donates $20,000 to a South African AIDS Village.

Recently the casino group, Vegas Partner Lounge, asked its online players to play the company’s three most popular video slots. Players who chose to participate in this initiative aided in generating funds destined for the Sparrow Rainbow Village in South Africa – an AIDS facility caring for adults, orphans and children. The proceeds added up to $20,000 and are to be donated to the Village in December 2007. As the Christmas holidays approach, this seems to be a much needed boost for the Johannesburg Hospice. Being also an AIDS facility for orphans and children, the donation is sure to raise some spirit that may have been misplaced.

The Sparrow Rainbow Village caters for around 286 patients diagnosed with the HIV/AIDS virus. Parts of the Village cater for adults, mothers and their babies, and AIDS orphans. One of the scariest details in Africa is the growing number of AIDS orphans – they are left homeless and destitute without close relatives to help them through the difficult times ahead. Sparrow Rainbow Village is one of the many institutions in South Africa that caters for such unfortunate children.

We couldn’t have done it without you,’ exclaimed the Sun Vegas Casino manager Austin Green. Vegas Partner Lounge has been donating funds toward the fight against AIDS for years now but this is the first time the company has decided to donate its proceeds in South Africa. The HIV virus has been spreading like wildfire throughout both rural and urban areas in the country and despite the country’s Awareness campaign, little change has come about in recent years.
